Anniversary Celebration & NYE

There's been a whole lot of celebrating around here lately. We've been celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary, the year that has passed, and the new year that's just beginning. It's kinda nice to have our anniversary so close to the end of the year; it gives us a chance to start fresh in marriage and life at the same time. We've really enjoyed our little get-a-way and the chance to reflect and celebrate our marriage.

December 29th
Our actual anniversary was on Sunday so we had a low key day eating homemade cinnamon rolls, going to church, putting together our new puzzle, and toasting with sparkling pomegranate juice. Cinnamon roll recipe HERE.

December 30th
The next day we woke up early, dropped off Pongo at Marty's parents' house, and went and saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. We enjoyed the movie, but mostly we enjoyed the reclining plush seats and having the theater almost to ourselves. We highly recommend the AMC theater in Layton- most comfortable movie experience ever!

After the movie we headed up to Logan to walk down memory lane. Our first stop was the temple where we got married 3 years ago.

Next we went to dinner at El Sol- we went here on our second date (and several other dates) and we ate here the night before our wedding. This restaurant was also a favorite of my parents while they were attending USU.

After dinner we headed over to the Anniversary Inn to check in to our room.

We stayed in the fire and ice room- it made my little penguin loving heart so happy!

It was so nice to kick back and relax together. We toasted to another great year of marriage with the sparkling cider that came with the room.

When we buy a house some day I'm totally making a penguin room!

Such a great night! I never wanted to leave..

December 31st
The next morning we made a quick stop by campus because a trip to Logan wouldn't be complete without Old Main and the "A".

For NYE night we went to a play with my family, the Larsens, and the Fasselins. We enjoyed laughing and spending time with old friends- the perfect way to end the year!

We hope everyone has a happy new year! We're excited for year 4 and 2014!
