Love from Elder Boswell

My little brother Bryce has been out on his mission for 3 months now! If you want to keep up with him on his mission I made a blog for him, you can find it here.

He sent this picture with his latest e-mail and I just had to share :] It made my day!

Pizza my heart ♥

Today marks 8 months of marriage for Marty and I! We are loving married life and we are getting into a pretty good groove in our life together.

That's right I put an 8 on my pizza :)

I wanted to try my hand at homemade pizza, so I have another great recipe to share ↓

Favorite Pizza Crust
1 pkg dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water

2 1/2 to 3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
3/4 cup cold water

and I had to put a heart on the other...

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand for 10 mins.
  2. While the yeast is dissolving, mix in a separate bowl, Flour, salt, olive oil, honey, and cold water.
  3. Add yeast mixture with other ingredients.
  4. Knead with either dough hooks or by hand for 5 mins ( I recommend by hand if you're feeling stressed ;) )
  5. Form a ball and place in an oiled bowl.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise 1 hour.
  7. Divide dough in half and shape each into a 12" round.
  8. Prebake crusts fro 10 mins at 450° before adding toppings.
  9. Add toppings :]
  10. Bake again for 10-12 mins.
* Makes 2, 12" pizzas.
* Reduce temp to 400° and cut down bake time if your oven cooks fast

Pizza love

Super yummy and easy! Happy 8 months Marty! I love you babe!

Tenors, Territories, and Temples

We've had a busy and amazing weekend!

Friday: Date night
We had dinner at cafe Zupas ( we had never been there before) and we really enjoyed it! It's a very trendy and fresh eating experience. We recommend the California Turkey sandwich, Yum!

After dinner we attended a play at the Terrace Playhouse near our house. We saw 'Lend me a Tenor', it was a light-hearted comedic play that was all about situational irony. Marty knew one of the actors so it was fun to see him perform. It was very well done and a nice change from the usual dinner and a movie. Plus we can now check it off our summer bucket list!

To end the night we got pie at Village Inn. It was nice to feel like we were dating again, Thank you Marty for the fun date night! ♥

Saturday: Abbott territory/ temple night
Marty's parents recently bought 2 beautiful acres in Sunridge, near Huntsville, UT. They have been talking about it for years, but they finally purchased the land for their future dream cabin. Marty and I are very excited for many great sunridge campouts.

Karen's dream come true

There were still some beautiful flowers around the property, we're excited for springtime up there!

We also found these pretty berries, if anyone knows what they are feel free to comment :)

The road into the property, it's nice and secluded.

There are Aspen trees everywhere!

Fire pit

There's a nice big flat area in the middle, perfect for camping.

We're pretty stoked :] Marty's already drawing up plans for a rope swing, hammock, and zip-line.

Afterwards I got a haircut and chopped off my hair! It's the shortest it's ever been! Then we headed to bountiful, and did some sealing sessions at the temple, it was so nice to be able to hear all the promises we are given with temple marriage all over again. We're pretty blessed :)

~and if that wasn't enough we saw a rainbow on our way home from the temple.

Sunday: Talk in church
Marty and I were assigned to speak in church and we were both pretty nervous to address our new ward, but I am happy to report that we both did an excellent job and we had several ward members come up to us and tell us we gave some of the best talks they had ever heard :) I spoke on the importance of becoming like little children and learning from their examples of faith, humility, and love. Marty spoke on the truth of the gospel and the reality that Joseph Smith did in fact see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ.

We've had an amazing weekend together, we're sad to see it end... But we're grateful for the opportunity we had this weekend to recognize the things that are important to us. We hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Mountains of Mantua

This weekend Marty and I went on an adventure in Mantua, Utah. We went with the Abbotts and Cottons (Marty's parents and his sister Steph and her husband Chris) on a camping and 4-wheeling trip. Chris and Steph showed the rest of us a place we had never been before, there was so much more to Mantua than we ever thought. I have been past Mantua several times as it is located in Sardine canyon on the way to Logan.  We very much enjoyed taking a closer look the past couple of days.

The highlight was a 4-wheeling ride we took with Chris and Steph to the top of the mountain. It took us about 45 mins each way and reached an elevation of 9300 feet! It was a very dusty weekend (hence the dirt on our faces) but the view was worth all the dust.

Chris and Steph make pretty awesome tour guides :)

We looked like bank robbers trying to keep the dirt out of our lungs.

This was the view from about 3/4ths of the way up ↑

View from the top ↑
We could see Willard Bay and the Great Salt Lake

The wildflowers were gorgeous!

Here's our cute new tent :)

Evening walk

mmmm I love campfire!

There was an amazing full moon last night!

The trails were so beautiful and we had fun feeling like explorers.

Awesome weekend! Thanks Abbotts & Cottons!

Our primary class

Marty and I were so excited when we got called to be primary teachers in our ward! We were even more excited when we met the adorable kids that we get to teach every week. We teach the Ctr-4 class, which is the age group that is starting kindergarten this year. They are so funny and cute! We've loved getting to hear their takes on the world, they teach us more than we teach them sometimes..

Here's our cute class ↓

(not pictured: Jonah, I'll update when we get a picture of him)

These kids make our calling easy, plus it's nice to refresh our memories with the basics of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our lesson this Sunday was on the faith of the Jaredites. :) We think we have the best calling in the world.
