4 months & a Royal Wedding

Well we have now been married for 1/3 of a year! In honor of our 4 month anniversary the royals across the "pond" got married. So nice of them to make such a big deal of our fourth month-aversary.

Congrats Prince William & Catherine Middleton. Now we can all get back to our own non-royal lives.

Spring Spree ✿

Spring is FINALLY showing her shy face. We saw beautiful flowers while on our nature trail.

This tree is right outside our bedroom window :)

And we went on a little gift card shopping spree...
It's amazing we still have money on our gift cards...
Thank you again wedding gift givers!

We got chairs for our porch and fasteners for our head board from home depot.

We got a cinnamon roll and pumpkin bread from Great Harvest.

And we got candles and a hand towel rack from Target and Walmart.

I love free home improvement :)

What a great day...

Easter Sunday

 Happy Easter!

I love hearing the testimonies of the prophets and I miss president Hinckley.

I am especially grateful to my lord and savior Jesus Christ.
I know that he gave his life that we may have a chance to live with our Father In Heaven again.
I am so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I am grateful that the keys and power of the priesthood was restored to this earth through Joseph Smith.  I know that we have a true prophet on the earth today and I sustain Thomas S. Monson as the president and leader of our church. I know he receives revelation from our Father in Heaven to lead and guide us.
Through the keys and powers of the priesthood and the sealing power of the temple, I know I can live with my family and husband forever. I bare testimony that these things are true in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Today I am grateful to have my family over to our place for Easter. I've never hosted an Easter dinner before. I had fun decorating and getting ready for my family to come visit.

It was fun to visit with my family for a few hours today. I love laughing about all the dumb stuff we did as kids.  Plus I love having an excuse to have a fancy meal.

My mom brought us our basket from the Easter bunny~ I'm glad I'm still not too old for that ;)

I hope everyone had a great Easter and remembered the true reason for this day.

Antelope Island

Yesterday we were feeling a little antsy so we decided to take a little day trip to Antelope Island to get some fresh air and relax. It was a beautiful day! I had fun taking pictures and soaking in the landscape. We only wish it was a little warmer and there were fewer bugs... we'll definitely have to go back later this summer. It's too bad The Great Salt Lake has such a bad rep, it's seriously such a gorgeous place!

The road out to the island.

Yay little road trip!

Of course it had a "do not touch sign" who really listens to those?

My self timer skills are improving :]

mmmmmhmmm ♥

We actually saw some antelope on antelope island!

ity bitty buffalo

We made friends with an injured seagull.

This is Marty's mountain. He hikes it every summer.

Like I said, GORGEOUS! And to think this place is in our backyard!

We highly recommend Antelope Island for a beautiful and simple get-a-way...

I'm awfully fond of you ☂

A survival guide to rainy days:

If you find yourself in this position↓
Find a way to make the best of it!

Step 1: Have the right gear
You're going to need good shoes.

You can't go wrong with a pair of these ↑

And you're going to want an awesome raincoat like this↓

Step 2: find cover
Umbrellas that look like penguins work best.

If you don't have one of those you can always use old fashion good sense and get under a tree

Step 3: forget steps 1 & 2 and just play!
Jump in puddles!

Swing on the swing set.

Shoot some hoops.

And if your a romantic.. you can always kiss in the rain ♥

Step 4: after a long day of playing in the rain, go home and relax..
Read a good book,

and snuggle on the couch..

Step 5: No matter what you decide to do on rainy days, make sure you spend them with your best friend.

Say hello to our little friends

Today was a big day for us.

We got our first vacuum as a married couple...

Thank you to all those who gave us Target gift cards.
This was what we got with the last of them.
I'm really going to miss showing up at Target and getting free stuff...

Such a handsome little devil...

Our apartment has never felt so fresh! Our little vacuum picked up a surprising amount of lint and dirt..

The other new friend we made today is the Weber county library system...

We are now proud card holders.

We picked up a handful of books to read.
~ Sorry but we're totally the kind of people who judge a book by its cover...

Look at my handsome husband getting smarter by the second ;)
I'm excited for our book club.
If anyone has good book suggestions feel free to comment!

Ps. I updated "our story" if you need a little cheese in your life ♥
