It's still true.

Last night when we were talking Marty asked "do you know when it was that I knew I was going to marry you?"
"tell me"
"Remember when I texted you after church when we were first dating and asked how church was?"
"yeah"
" and you said 'it's still true :)', that's when i knew"

The Church of Jesus Christ will always be true because Christ lives and he is the head of this church.

Tonight I was privileged to hear Elder M. Russell Ballard speak at the CES fireside, and I took down some notes...

The first council he gave was this "Keep the gospel of Jesus Christ SIMPLE"

1. How is your personal faith? Is there anything in your life that you feel needs change?

2. Fix the things that are not right. -Repentance

3. Remember the covenants we made at baptism.

4. The gift of the Holy Ghost
-testifies of Christ
-gives spiritual strength
-brings peace and comfort
-warns against danger
-helps us feel of God's love and direction

5. Endure to the End
"no one is secure until the very end"

and to conclude he shared a poem:

The Oak Tree
by Johnny Ray Ryder Jr.

A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the Oak Tree's leaves away.
Then snapped its boughs
and pulled its bark
until the Oak was tired and stark.

But still the Oak Tree held its ground
while other trees fell all around.
The weary wind gave up and spoke,
"How can you still be standing Oak?"

The Oak Tree said, I know that you
can break each branch of mine in two,
carry every leaf away,
shake my limbs and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,
growing stronger since my birth.
You'll never touch them, for you see
they are the deepest part of me.

Until today, I wasn't sure
of just how much I could endure.
But now I've found with thanks to you,
I'm stronger than I ever knew.

We are stronger than we know. The Gospel is true. I bare testimony that these things will improve the life of anyone who is willing to try them. Take these things in to your heart ♥
